When Android manufacturers lay stress on the internal specifications of a new smartphone during the launch event, Apple focuses on the design and battery. If representative of an actual iPhone 7 device, the benchmark indicates 2GB RAM.

During the iPhone 7 keynote, Phil Schiller, the senior VP of worldwide marketing at Apple, explained the advantages of the new A10 Fusion chip. Tasks such as checking email that require little processing power will be relegated to the slower cores. Designating specific tasks for each of the pair of processors makes it so that the A10 chipsets prove to be 40 percent faster than their A9 counterparts. “The iPhone 7 is now the fastest iPhone in existence, and is faster than the A9X-powered 12.9” iPad Pro on both single and multi-core.
If the test results turn out to be true, then iPhone 7 Plus will be the first smartphone to ship with 3GB RAM.
Through Apple’s iPhone Upgrade Program, customers in the United States, and for the first time in the United Kingdom and China, can get an unlocked iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, with the protection of AppleCare+, choose their carrier and have the opportunity to upgrade to a new iPhone every year.
To make sure the A10 Fusion’s capabilities are put to good use, Apple built a novel performance controller that can distribute the load in real time to the appropriate processor. However, the two advanced cores are capable of delivering 40% improved performance than the A9.
Based on what appears to be a Geekbench benchmark of the iPhone 7 Plus, the data shows that the 5.5-inch model will feature 3GB of RAM, as previously rumored.
Actually speaking, 3GB RAM is not at all necessary for an iOS loaded phone because of the kind of optimizations used by Apple. As for the smaller iPhone 7, benchmarks from earlier this week revealed that it has 2GB of RAM, which we guess makes sense since it does not have the dual camera system.

According to industry analysts, Apple has increased the RAM to compete with the Android devices which are released with 3GB RAM.
