Fey, Poehler share creative arts Emmy gold as ‘SNL’ hosts
Tina and Amy won as co-hosts of last year’s Christmas episode on SNL.

Categories primarily related to scripted programming will be presented Saturday.
The Television Academy’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards have been spread out over two nights this year, a decision that makes ideal sense given that 47 Emmys were awarded on Saturday alone.
“Our academy has a legacy of adjusting and expanding our awards to reflect the changing nature of members’ Emmy-worthy work”, said academy Chairman and CEO Bruce Rosenblum. The Creative Arts awards cover technical categories, everything from sound mixing to hairstyling.
Comedy duo Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are sharing Emmy gold as Saturday Night Live hosts. At this year’s Emmy Awards they made history by winning an Emmy, then not being there to collect it.
The other nominees are Bradley Whitford, the victor in the category past year for his portrayal of the best friend of Maura Pfefferman (Jeffrey Tambor) on “Transparent”; Martin Mull, who played a veteran political strategist with dementia on “Veep”; and Peter Scolari, who plays the father of Lena Dunham’s character on “Girls“.
But after it was determined that Peter MacNicol was not technically eligible for the nomination that he received for “Veep”, (he appeared in too many episodes to be considered a guest star) Scolari entered the race as he was the next highest vote-getter in the nominations balloting.
A total of 44 awards were handed out Saturday night, with more winners to be announced Sunday.
Metcalf is also nominated for outstanding guest actress in a drama for her role as Horace’s (Louis C.K.) ex-wife on “Horace and Pete”.
On the drama series side, Hank Azaria was honored as best guest actor for “Ray Donovan” and Margo Martindale of “The Americans” won as best guest actress.
Diane Warren won the Emmy for best original music and lyrics for “Til It Happens to You”, Lady Gaga’s song from the documentary “The Hunting Ground“, about campus rape.

This was Fey’s ninth Emmy win and – surprisingly enough – Poehler’s fist time taking home the prestigious television award.
