The game was an intense one, with South Korea limiting Maine-Endwell hitless until the fourth inning.

Maine-Endwell returned to the Binghamton area of NY after a completing a flawless run that ended with a Little League World Series championship.

This is the first Little League World Series championship for NY since Staten Island won it all in 1964.

The only run that Harlost gave up came in the top of the fifth when Yoomin Lee hit a one-out home run to cut the lead to 2-1.

“I was a little nervous at first in front of a lot of people but it’s just another game and I felt confident going in”, Harlost said.

When asked how he felt, Harlost said winning was “the best”.

That was all South Korea could get, however as New York’s defense came up big all afternoon. The last team from New York to capture the Little League World Series crown was the Mid-Island Little League from Staten Island, New York, in 1964. And Harlost scored on a passed ball, giving NY a 2-0 cushion. And its been 52 years since the last time a NY team won the LLWS (Staten Island in 1964). “I’m really proud of my team”.

After South Korea got two runners on base in the top of the sixth, however, Harlost closed things out himself for the win.

The winners of this year’s Little League World Series received a warm welcome home Monday and it’s making us smile! McWilliams’ blast halved New York’s lead, but Abbadessa struck out Carson Rucker to end the game.
