Panthers didn’t violate concussion policy on Cam Newton hit
The NFL told ESPN on Friday that medical personnel, including an unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant, reviewed video of Stewart’s hit on Newton and “concluded there were no indications of a concussion that would require further evaluation and the removal of the player from the game”. The Denver defense saw a handful of plays like this all night and majority followed an impressive play which just gave the team minimal momentum all game long.

At the very least, the National Football League needs to expand its replay system to help officials determine which hits are truly risky.
“And remember, there’s people up in the box looking down and there’s the head referee”. None of them felt that he was under duress at that time, and they allowed him to continue. “What are we supposed to do?” said Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall, who doled out a couple of egregious hits on Newton.
“It is something I was told after they matched the deal.”, Anderson said of his expanded role this season. In all the team looked very impressive with a few minor kinks to work out on the fundamental and discipline side of things. He’s a big physical basketball player and he goes to set a pick and they fall down and they call a foul on him. “He goes to shoot a little layup and gets hacked and hammered and they don’t call it”, Rivera said. “He’s an imposing figure and sometimes those don’t look as bad on a big guy”.
But it’s not like Newton’s new to the league.
The coach would like to see Newton, now in his sixth season, get some “veteran favoritism” from the league’s officials.
Rivera didn’t see a need for his exit either.
In case you missed it, the Panthers have 15 more regular-season games. “I’m not going to fan the flames of race in this particular category, but I really sit back and ask myself, ‘Would this have happened to some of his other fellow colleagues?’ Let the public answer the question for themselves”.
He remained in the trainer’s room for almost an hour after the game had ended after being sacked three times, and hit eight more, not counting the punishment he received on his 11 rushing attempts. “But he’d been running the whole game, so I was unsure if he was a passer or if he was going to run”.
The Denver Broncos just could not get out of their own way all game long following each good drive at the beginning with a mistake or great defensive plays with penalties.
It was not secret from day one of training camp what the Denver Broncos were trying to do. Carolina’s only win in the series came in 2008.
The Panthers opened the scoring on their first drive, with a 14-yard touchdown pass from Cam Newton to Kelvin Benjamin.
And Carolina would have won had Graham Gano made, instead of hooked, his 50-yard field goal attempt with 4 seconds remaining. “I just missed it”, he said. “I never grabbed his face mask”.
FIELD FLIP: Punter Andy Lee, who surrendered a Super Bowl record 61-yard punt return to Jordan Norwood, pinned the Broncos back with a franchise record 76-yard punt in the third quarter.
The second kick knuckleballed wide left, and the Broncos defense held off Newton, the battered battering ram, one more time. It was the first touchdown pass of Siemian’s career.
And while the Panthers medical staff went out to check on him, this is the kind of situation that leads to the second part of the problem.

The Broncos were penalized for only one of those blows, which came in the Panthers’ last possession and forced the quarterback’s head to snap to the left.
