Donald Trump leads Hillary Clinton in North Carolina, new poll shows

North Carolina, which 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney won four years ago and has been carried by Republicans in eight out of the last 10 presidential elections, appears to be a virtual tossup at this point.

At one point, in a sign of the state’s importance, Mrs Clinton’s and Mr Trump’s planes sat side-by-side on the tarmac in Cleveland, though the nominees did not cross paths. Trump has planned a smaller ad buy, starting this week.

Earlier in the day, Trump attacked Clinton’s energy level, noting she hasn’t followed his aggressive traveling schedule and questioning whether she had the stamina to help bring jobs back to America. I think if she went to Mexico she would have had a total failure. 26 in NY.

Trump told reporters he does plan to take part in all three presidential debates, joking that only a “hurricane” or “natural disaster” would prevent him from attending.
