We will win, even in Owen Smith’s constituency, claim Team Corbyn

Theresa May used her first Prime Minister’s Questions since MPs returned to parliament after the summer break to take swipes at the divisive leadership of Labour’s Jeremy Corbyn. “This will deliver clean energy and curb energy bill rises for households; an energy policy for the 60 million, not the big six energy companies”, he will say.

“What we do know, whoever wins the Labour Party leadership, we’re not going to let them anywhere near power again”.

Ali Campbell, the group’s original lead singer and brother of two members of the rival outfit, along with fellow bandmates Mickey Virtue and Terence “Astro” Wilson would only go as far as reaffirm their support for Labour.

The opposition leader said the target would make the United Kingdom a “world leader” in green technology, creating 316,000 jobs in wind, solar and wave power.

Corbyn said he would use a £500bn national investment programme, with a national investment bank and a network of regional development banks, to ensure that new renewable jobs would be created where they were needed most.

Corbyn has always been a critic of the EU.

“By failing to campaign effectively for Britain to remain in the European Union, and by calling for Article 50 to be invoked immediately, he has put vital environmental protections at further risk”.

“I think some of the people around Jeremy are absolutely encouraging it, of that there is no doubt”, he said.

“But political leaders also need to commit to strong and effective means of enforcing those laws because if oversight is not to be provided by the EU Commission and the European Court of Justice in future, then the lead must come from government and the United Kingdom courts”.

Tickets for the Jewish News’ Labour leadership hustings have been snapped up in record time.

“Owen is confident he will win the backing of his local party”.

The PM defended the Government’s housing policy, insisting they want to help people own their first home, and claimed house-building is up under the Tories compared with the previous Labour administration.

Amid a steady stream of boos and cheers, one person said both Jeremy Corbyn and Owen Smith were “unelectable” during the hour-long debate. The organization’s senior political strategist Liz Hutchins told the Guardian, “He is right to commit to ban fracking. The Liberal Democrats and the Green Party have called for a ban because of threats to health and the environment”.

Mr Corbyn would also ban fracking, which could arrive in Nottingham if a handful of early planning applications progress. No other reproduction or distribution is permitted without prior written consent.
