Hundreds of activists on Saturday set fire to an effigy of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un here in protest against Pyongyang’s fifth nuclear test. The move marks another crackdown on criticism of his leadership by citizens of the country.

The Chairman of the Worker’s Party of Korea, Chairman of the Central Military Commission, Chairman of the National Defence Commission and the Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army, the one and only Kim Jong-un has now made a decision to ban sarcasm in North Korea.

Even indirect criticism of the authoritarian government has been banned, Asian media reported.

Quoting sources, Radio Free Asia reported that the warnings were issued to people by the authorities in mass meetings starting the end of the August.

‘The main point of the lecture was “keep your mouths shut”,’ the source said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The official leading the meeting warned those present against being “dragged into internal hostile behavior”. As per the report, people in the country can not even make indirect comments.

Next time you are in Pyongyang, you can not say, “This is all America’s fault” by law.

Derisive graffiti mocking production slogans have been found near constructions sites of Pyongyang and much more scandalous scribbling attacking the despotic leader himself have been in areas close to China, sources told RFA. North Korea has also grown bolder on the worldwide stage, recently firing three ballistic missiles into the sea-the latest of several major missile tests this year-while the G20 economic summit was underway in neighboring China.
