Master Deputy Brandon Collins was hit and killed by another driver during the stop on USA 69 Highway near 143rd Street.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Department identified the officer as Master Deputy Brandon Collins.
The sheriff’s department says Master Deputy Brandon Collins was killed in the accident early Sunday on USA 69.
“Within a few minutes of the stop being initiated, another motorist struck the rear of the Deputy’s auto”, the statement said.
In total, three vehicles were involved in the crash which resulted in a vehicle fire.

Police closed USA 69 in both directions while they investigated the crash.
