The statement, which tied the endorsements to a “commander-in-chief” forum with Trump and Clinton that aired on NBC on Wednesday, again noted Trump’s lack of endorsements compared to Romney.
“I also meant what I said last night about empathy, and the very real challenges we face as a country where so many people have been left out and left behind”, she said in her statement.
But in a twist at the very end of her answer, she then referred to a September 7 article in Time by Matt Olsen, a Democrat counterterrorism expert appointed by Obama, who posited that Trump is supported by ISIS.
Trump praised the Russian president Wednesday during a “commander-in-chief forum” and went on Kremlin-funded RT the following day to criticize American foreign policy and defend Putin from charges that he was interfering in the US election.
“I did exactly what I should have done and I take it very seriously, always have, always will, ‘ she said.
And that’s not even getting into the absurdity of what it would involve – massive infrastructure, large numbers of troops, many years on the ground – of course, Trump hasn’t thought through any of that”.
Trump’s campaign responded to Clinton’s criticisms, calling the attacks dishonest, desperate, and “unhinged”.
Pence said, “the men and women who support Donald Trump’s campaign are hard-working Americans: Farms, coal miners, teachers, veterans, members of our law enforcement community”.
Clinton then pivoted and tried to characterize the other half of Trump’s supporters, putting them in “that other basket” and saying they need empathy.
Wednesday’s forum served as a preview of sorts for Clinton and Trump’s highly-anticipated presidential debates. “Insulting everyday Americans to a group of wealthy donors shows whose priorities Clinton really has in mind and exposes the hypocrisy of a candidate whose stated desire to unite the country is clearly all for show”.
Speaking to gay rights supporters at the “LGBT for Hillary” gala, she added that those people are “irredeemable, but thankfully they are not America”.

Clinton said she regretted her decision as a USA senator from NY to vote in favor of the 2003 Iraq war and said Trump had been in favor of it as well. “I’m proud to support Secretary Clinton”.
