2016 is last chance for Republicans to win presidential election: Donald Trump

Clinton, meanwhile, pilloried Trump for having suggested United States military leaders had been “reduced to rubble”, accusing him of having “trash-talked American generals”.

Putin is “very much of a leader”, Trump said in a televised presidential forum moderated by the US network NBC on September 7, where he and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton were separately grilled over their national security credentials.

“This is the first time in the history – the storied history of Air Force One”, Trump said. FBI Director James Comey had declared her “extremely careless” in her handling of sensitive material but did not recommend charges against her. “I’ll just leave it at that”, he said.

Trump on Wednesday raised eyebrows by saying that Russia’s president was “far more” of a leader than Obama.

Trump told King he does not think the Russians were intervening in USA elections, a concern expressed by some US officials and by Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. “But certainly in that system he’s been a leader, far more than our president has been a leader”, he continued.

Trump did little to counter criticism that he lacks detailed policy proposals, particularly regarding the Islamic State group. He has since picked up ground on Clinton in national opinion polls.

“I think it’s going to be the last election that the Republicans can win”.

Obviously Lindsey Graham said this in jest, but I am all for it if Lindsey Graham wants to pack up and leave the United States for good, I think we’d be much better off without him.

Speaking about Russian Federation and Mr Putin’s position, he said: “It’s a very different system, and I don’t happen to like the system”. For some leaders such troubles could be fatal, but Putin has glided over them with a combination of steely control and personal aplomb. But she defended her support for US military intervention to help oust a dictator in Libya, despite the chaotic aftermath.

The event offered a prelude to how Clinton and Trump will deal with questions on national security issues in their three upcoming presidential debates later in September and in October. He called the Middle East “a total catastrophe” for the U.S. “Then, she gave up 20 per cent of U.S. uranium to Russian Federation -while those who benefited from the deal gave money to the Clintons”, he said. Those attending include Michael Chertoff, who served as Homeland Security secretary under President George W. Bush.

Clinton said none of the emails she sent or received were marked top secret, secret or classified, the usual way such material is identified.

The statement, which tied the endorsements to a “commander-in-chief” forum with Trump and Clinton that aired on NBC on Wednesday, again noted Trump’s lack of endorsements compared to Romney.

Trump quickly abandoned Lauer’s entreaties to avoid attacking his opponent and focus on what he would do if elected president in November.

Trump’s continued unvarnished praise instead of unequivocal condemnation for Putin is yet another example of where the party’s standard-bearer has broken with GOP orthodoxy.
