The initial projections following the news of Tony Romo’s back injury suggested the Dallas Cowboys quarterback would be out 6-10 weeks. The Cowboys have a bye in Week Seven, so Romo would miss seven games with a minimum stay on IR. So why does Garrett keep jerking us around with all this tell “day-by-day” injury stuff?

In the following days, your worst fear became a reality. Romo did in fact fracture a vertebrae in his back on that play. Garrett wouldn’t fully speculate on Romo’s return or the projected layover of at least six weeks.
The last time the Cowboys saw the Dolphins was arguably the most exciting game of their entire 2015 season, the return of Tony Romo.
But if Romo is forced to sit out half a season – at bare minimum – Dallas’ fate may already be decided by the time he’s able to come back.

“I don’t expect this injury to cause him to retire” said Jones.
But it has nothing to do with the gaudy stats – 454 yards passing with five touchdowns and no interceptions – Prescott has compiled in his first three preseason games and everything to do with his demeanor and attitude.

From the sampling we have seen this preseason, we can see why Guin is all aboard Prescott hype train.
With Dak playing quarterback, you have an added element that your offense is typically lacking with a 36 year old with back problems. He has the ability to stand in there and fire downfield, and also has enough athleticism to play quarterback in the NFL. He wants to take full advantage of the opportunities he gets on the practice field and in games.

Even after the game, from the owner on down, the Dallas Cowboys were in lockstep in downplaying the severity of Romo’s injury. Of course he comes across as a hater to many people because it is well known by everyone that watches First Take that Steven A Smith is not too fond of the Cowboys.
