Watt not quite back to form in Houston’s opener

Osweiler has seven NFL starts (his first came previous year in Chicago when he was with the Broncos) in which he has put together some very good halves of football, but he has yet to put together an entire game and yet to take a snap that counts in the Texans’ offense.

“He’s dynamite, and he’ll occasionally drop a ball, but boy he sure makes up for it in a hurry, ” Texans owner Bob McNair said. I’ve put together some thoughts I have on the game in our week one Houston preview.

Then, after the Bears punted on their next possession, Osweiler led Houston on a seven-play, 46-yard drive to set up a Nick Novak field goal. “It’s one of those things as you become more familiar with an offensive scheme and also the defense that you’re going against, you’re going to know where the ball should go quicker and quicker with every single rep that you get”. White did catch two more passes in the game for 29 yards, but both came in desperation on the Bears’ final drive. Fuller had four catches for 100 yards in the second half, including the go-ahead 18-yard touchdown on a wide receiver screen on third-and-7.

Alshon Jeffery’s march to a multi-year extension began Sunday with a sprint down the right sideline, an easy leap against single coverage and a gain of 54 yards.

Let’s take a look at the good and the bad from the Bears’ loss to the Texans on Sunday. “I am going to play as hard as I possibly can. obviously I have fresh legs right now”.

“They were great”, Hopkins said of the shoes in the popular turtle dove colorway.

In addition to adding Osweiler, the Texans bolstered their backfield during the offseason by signing free agent running back Lamar Miller from the Miami Dolphins.

Hopkins made a solid grab in the back left corner of the end zone over Porter to give the Texans a 10-7 lead. This isn’t a very deep team, not yet anyway.

Watt’s back surgery was his second of the offseason after he had a much more involved procedure in January to fix five torn muscles in his core. The Texans were in his face all day and hit him 13 times on top of the five sacks.

Watt recorded 17 1/2 sacks last season to win his second straight Defensive Player of the Year award. Sitton was signed a week ago when he was a surprise release by Green Bay.

Referees did Cutler no favors, either, particularly on an illegal-pick call on Zach Miller that FOX officiating expert Mike Periera said shouldn’t have been made due to Miller’s proper positioning at the line of scrimmage at the point of contact. “We have to make adjustments. There was nothing up front or on the back end or anything defensively that we weren’t prepared for”.

He missed significant time in the 2012 and 2013 seasons because of two major injuries to his left knee. Watt’s teammates sacked Cutler five times, with Whitney Mercilus getting two and Jadeveon Clowney, Josh Simon and Andre Hal tallying one each.
