Doll said the child, whose name has not been released, was struck in the wrist and was taken to a hospital.
– A Port Richey woman is facing charges after more than 100 chickens were removed from her home and the house next-door Tuesday.
Of the seven people in the house, only Kahmirah was wounded, and her injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Deputies say the shooting doesn’t appear to be random and the mother of the infant is a “documented gang member”.
As for the suspect behind the shooting that injured the baby, Doll said they are still looking for them as the case remains under investigation.
A sleeping baby was shot in a drive-by shooting over the weekend, according to CBS News. Her 32-year-old father was shot multiple times in the torso and taken to the hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
Authorities say at least two men pulled up in a black sedan and began shooting at the father.
New Port Richey is north of Tampa on Florida’s Gulf coast.
