ITT Educational Services Inc. said Tuesday it would discontinue operations at its ITT Technical Institutes, in line with the U.S. Department of Education’s directive, affecting more than 8,000 employees.

I-T-T has 140 campus locations in 35 states. ITT Educational Services says it was forced to take the action after the U.S. Department of Education issued sanctions August 25, including a ban on enrolling new students who rely on federal financial aid.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Department of Education held a series of webinars to inform students about their options moving forward. ITT Tech has campuses in Norwood and Wilmington.
A student is not eligible for a loan discharge if they transferred their credit to another school or completed coursework from ITT Tech.
