A Sydney actor, model, tutor and fashion blogger says he is “in shock and really saddened” and feared he may become the “terrorist version of Schapelle Corby” after rumours that he was the Bangkok bombing suspect seen in CCTV footage before the deadly attack began circulating online.

The footage from a security camera outside the shrine shows a dark-haired man in a bright yellow shirt who casually sits and takes off his backpack on a bench, leaving it behind as he walks away.

Mr Prayuth said authorities were looking for “some suspects” and promised to “hurry and find the bombers”.

On August 18, at about 1:20 p.m., an unknown assailant threw a pipe bomb from Bangkok’s Taksin Bridge onto a crowded platform at the Sathorn boat pier.

He said he spent six hours being interviewed by police who also searched his house for explosives.

143-c-20-(Jocelyn (JAHS’-lihn) Gecker, AP correspondent)-“in this case”-AP correspondent Jocelyn Gecker reports a second bomb has gone off in Bangkok, just a day after an explosion rocked the city’s busy intersection, but this one didn’t hurt anyone”. No matter what their intentions are, they took lives of innocent people. A more-than-decade-long insurgency by southern Muslim separatists has left more than 5,000 dead far from the capital.

No one has claimed responsibility for the bombing.

The blast occurred at a major Bangkok intersection near the Erawan shrine, a popular site for tourists.

Hua said all government departments involved have planned their response to the incident, including making arrangements for victims and their families, treating the injured, and carrying out official communication with the Thai government.

It detonated at the Erawan Shrine, which is dedicated to the Hindu god Brahma, but is extremely popular among Thailand’s Buddhists as well as Chinese tourists.

Paul Chambers, from the Institute of South East Asian Affairs at Chiang Mai University, said recent talks between the two sides also made an attack by southern elements unlikely.

Its dean, Professor Peter Crisp said in a statement: “Our thoughts are with Vivian’s family and we are now working to support them in any way we can”.

Authorities say they have found surveillance footage that shows a suspect in the bombing in Bangkok, Thailand on Monday. “We need to find them first”.

“Our last conversation you said you would study hard and then we meet again”.

The suspect seen in the video wearing a yellow shirt raised initial questions about whether the violence was politically motivated, since one group of previous protesters was known to wear that colour of clothing.

“These are direct attacks on the livelihood of the Thai people and their economy which is strongly linked with tourism”.

It accounts for about a tenth of the economy and the government had been banking on record arrivals this year following a sharp fall in 2014 because of protests and the coup.

At the same time, the military government has tightly controlled dissent, arresting hundreds of its opponents and banning protests. It was his sister Yingluck Shinawatra who was ousted as prime minister a year ago.

Several countries have issued travel warnings since the bombing.
