Skylanders Battlecast Putting Card Battle Spin on Franchise
Hope you’re not fed up with the Skylanders series yet, because Activision has revealed that the series is jumping into the card battling market with its upcoming title, Skylanders BattleCast.

Skylanders Battlecast will be a free-to-play app for Android mobiles and tablets, iPhone and iPad.
“Built from the ground up to bring Skylanders to life on mobile devices, Skylanders Battlecast combines physical card play wiht mobile gaming in an all new way”, explained Eric Hirshberg, CEO at Activision. The studio promises additional information regarding Battlecast will be released leading up to its launch.
For more on Skylanders, stay tuned to IGN. Skylanders Battlecast lets players create a team of their favorite heroes and build the ultimate deck for battle. The physical cards can be scanned using the mobile device, and two character cards can be used to create animated duels to “physically interact with the characters”.
Senior VP of product management Josh Taub added: “We are bringing physical cards to life in an exciting new way”.
The popular Skylanders franchise is known for incorporating action figures into the virtual world of a video game.

Skylanders Battlecast is due out in 2016. Meanwhile, on September 20, Activision is launching Skylanders SuperChargers in North America on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and iOS.
