Rodgers wants Packers to clean up offense after opening win
On the Jaguars final offensive drive, Allen Robinson got his hands on a potential game winning touchdown catch. Hyde was there to further negate the play when he crashed through Robinson’s block.

This would have been The Drive for the Jaguars, marching down the field without any timeouts against a Green Bay defense full of playmakers.
“I would classify this as a very good adversity win”, Packers coach Mike McCarthy said in his opening postgame remarks.
As a team the Jaguars held Green Bay under 300 total yards of offense and that’s something they can build on.
Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers broke out of an early rut to throw two touchdowns and run for another as the Packers staved off a late Jaguars rally and won 27-23 at EverBank Field. “We’re 1-0 and going back to Minnesota with a chance to open up that stadium”.
“I’m not used to losing and I won’t get used to losing – I can promise that”, Jaguars rookie cornerback Jalen Ramsey said. “This game came down to that and we made the play”. Allen Robinson caught six passes for 72 yards, including three on fourth-down plays.
This would have been The Win for coach Gus Bradley, something that could have sparked his team through a hard opening-month schedule. Nelson played his first meaningful game in 20 months, finishing with six catches for 32 yards and a touchdown. Somehow, Rodgers had enough strength to find Adams, who had cornerback Davon House draped all over him, for a 29-yard touchdown. “We put in a lot throughout this week and we put a lot into camp going into this game, but we’ve got many weeks left so we’ve got to bounce back”.
Rodgers enjoyed the spoils that an offseason provided – the addition of free-agent tight end Jared Cook (who drew a key pass interference penalty), a recovered Jordy Nelson and a deep receiver group with two rejuvenated players in Randall Cobb and Davante Adams.
Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy rushes for a 27-yard run against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1’s matchup in Jacksonville. Last season they were 5-6 in games decided by seven points or less.
Jacksonville’s third-year quarterback finished the game 24 of 39 for 320 yards with one perfectly thrown 22-yard touchdown to tight end Julius Thomas in the first half.
Nelson had half his catches in a four-play stretch late in the first half. Yeldon was forced to shoulder a heavier load than expected after running back Chris Ivory was admitted to a local hospital Sunday with an undisclosed injury. DE Tyson Alualu was also inactive for the Jaguars, snapping his streak of 96 consecutive games played.
