Anti-gay Rick Perry to compete on Dancing With the Stars

The interview came as the new season line-up of the network’s “Dancing with the Stars” was announced. After all the other cast members were revealed, Hernandez met her partner, dancing pro Val Chmerkovskiy, and then it was time for Lochte to see who he was dancing with, and, boy, was he ever happy about it.

Lochte, who was a member of a gold-medal-winning US freestyle relay team, says he didn’t have second thoughts about participating after controversy erupted around his claim of being robbed after a late-night party in Rio. She danced on Broadway and is paired with perennial victor Derek Hough.

Twitter predictions for Dancing With the Stars Season 23 are coming in, and there seems to be an early favorite: Laurie Hernandez.

Well, Ryan Lochte, good luck with Dancing with the Stars this season, I’m sure you’d love to add that mirrorball trophy to your list of accomplishments. “You train for so long and you have that one shot to put it all out there, and I think that’s what I’m going to do”.

“Like I said, I did lie about that one part”, Lochte said, referring to his claim that a gun was held to his head. Their pros, respectively, are Allison Holker, Gleb Savchenko, Cheryl Burke and Emma Slater. I’m so excited to show you my moves on Sept 12th! I’m going to treat this like going into the Olympics.

There’s big news on the professional side, with the return of fan favorites Maksim Chmerkovskiy, back after four seasons away; six-time champ Derek Hough; and the show’s first consecutive victor, Cheryl Burke, who will dance with Lochte. According to Us Weekly, Julianne is returning on the “DWTS” judges’ table after skipping the competition last season. But in an Instagram post, Hough wrote that his fall schedule opened up because Singin’ in the Rain, which he was set to play the lead in on Broadway, has been delayed.
