The Old Trafford club’s revenue level is the second highest of any European club, trailing only Barcelona (£570 million) who have comparitively been aided by the strength of the Euro against the falling pound.

A fifth-place finish in the Premier League saw United miss out on Champions League qualification, but matters away from the pitch were far more successful as they made a record total revenue of £515.3m.
The compensation details were disclosed in United’s financial results for 2015-16, which were published Monday.
Manchester United have become the first football club in the UK to generate revenues of more than half a billion pounds in one year.
Commericial revenue is up 36 percent to £268 million, with the club’s net debt now standing at £260 million. Broadcasting revenue and matchday revenue are also up, with increases of 30.4% and 17.7% respectively.
“This strong financial performance has enabled us to invest in our squad, team management and facilities to position us to challenge for, and win, trophies in the coming year”.
For fiscal 2017, Manchester United expects: revenue to be in the range of 530 million to 540 million pounds; and adjusted EBITDA to be in the range of 170 million to 180 million pounds.
To put it into context, that figure would have put United 11th in the latest Deloitte Rich List, ahead of Tottenham, both Milan clubs and Roma.

Within the accounts, it was confirmed that United paid out £8.4m in compensation to sack manager Louis van Gaal and his coaching staff.
