Scott Dixon claimed a dominant victory in Sunday’s IndyCar race at Watkins Glen International, while Simon Pagenaud stole a march in the hunt for the title after a heavy crash for team-mate Will Power.

Josef Newgarden was second, followed by Helio Castroneves, Conor Daly, and Sebastien Bourdais.
The Chip Ganassi Racing Teams quartet of cars has been strong all weekend and three of them made it through to the Firestone Fast Six, with Scott Dixon continuing his weekend pace for pole and and Tony Kanaan in fifth. “It’s a much more comfortable position to be in going into Sonoma”.
It matches or has a lot of similarities to my favorite circuit, Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, so it’s just fast, flowing, undulating very picturesque track, and I think everything together with Gallagher giving me a good auto, it just came together. “We obviously have a fast race auto, but we’re going to have to put our heads down and try to come from behind”.

“We were just trying to hit the fuel number to make it to the end”, the 19-year-old Enerson said after just his second IndyCar race. I’d say I had to put a lot more effort into this qualifying effort than I did Iowa though with how physical of a circuit this is.
“I hope he gets his vehicle together for qualifying after that wreck in practice but definitely rooting for him and it can be done coming from the back”, he said.
There’s no mistaking the sound of IndyCars, and boy were those engines revving Sunday.

“Nobody is going around here with one hand on the wheel, I can tell you that”. “You have no time to rest, but it has been a lot of fun”. “I think that’s not very fair, is it?” It’s a new track and you’ve got to get used to it.
