Xavi, who now plays for Al Sadd in Qatar, told Spanish radio station La SER earlier this week that despite his achievements Ronaldo couldn’t come close to matching those of Xavi’s former Barca teammate Lionel Messi.

The Spanish legend’s comments have not gone down well with Ronaldo, who starred in Real Madrid’s 5-2 win over Osasuna in their La Liga clash on Saturday.
He went on: “Why is Xavi relevant?” What do I care what Xavi says.
“If I were the president of Real Madrid, I would give myself a 10-year contract”.
Building on such a brilliant display of football for the past months, Ronaldo is looking into getting a contract extension, and expressed that he wants a deal with Real Madrid for 10 years for another multi-million dollar package.
“At the moment I can’t imagine anything other than seeing out my career at Real Madrid”, he added. “I’m proud that I won the European Championship and the Champions League”. “I feel good. I could have played the 90 minutes without any problem”.
Ronaldo is primed to win his fourth Ballon d’Or title in 2016 after leading Real to 2015/16 Uefa Champions League title.
“I’m the most searched player on the internet”, Ronaldo said.
Ronaldo was not impressed by the midfield maestro’s dig and suggested he is merely trying to make headlines, adding the 36-year-old’s individual trophy cabinet is no match for his. He also won his maiden global title with Portugal at the 2016 European Championship.

He played 65 minutes against Osasuna, his first appearance since injuring his knee in the Euro 2016 final. “Anyone who wants free publicity or media attention talks about me”, Ronaldo was quoted as saying by Marca. “I’m fit again and got back in the swing of things, and I scored a goal, so it was flawless”.
