Half of Trump supporters are in basket of deplorables: Hillary Clinton

“Last night I was “grossly generalistic, ‘ and that’s never a good idea”, Clinton said in her statement“.

At a rally Friday before thousands of cheering supporters in Pensacola, FL, Donald Trump had clear and direct words for the Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in the fallout over their national security forum in NY on Wednesday.

Another key difference is that Clinton’s comments fit into a narrative she has already been pushing.

Trump and his supporters quickly reacted.

Trump – a NY native and real estate mogul – has said he donated construction equipment to the recovery effort and gave $100,000 to the memorial after touring it for the first time earlier this year. “The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic – you name it”.

“Unfortunately there are people like that, and he has lifted them up. some of those folks, they are irredeemable, but they are not America”. “He tweets and retweets offensive, hateful, mean-spirited rhetoric”.

Obama’s tweet was a response to Mitt Romney’s “47 percent” gaffe, in which he said almost half of Americans were so dependent on the government that they were likely to vote for Obama “no matter what”.

“Just when Hillary Clinton said she was going to start running a positive campaign, she ripped off her mask and revealed her true contempt for everyday Americans”, he said. Hillary Clinton should be ashamed of herself, and this proves beyond a doubt that she is unfit and incapable to serve as President of the United States. Trump’s campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, called for Clinton to apologise, something that Trump himself has never done in the face of controversy. Romney had said 47% of Americans on government dole supported Obama.

During his speech Friday night in Pensacola, Trump strayed from prepared remarks to suggest that Clinton is so immune from prosecution she could get away with murder.

The Trump campaign wasted no time using Clinton’s words against her. “I regret saying ‘half” – that was wrong”.

“Can you imagine” has become a common refrain among Clinton aides, especially after Trump said Republican Sen.

Following Ms Clinton’s comments hashtag #BasketOfDeplorables started trending on Twitter with many users either condemning or supporting her remarks.

The other basket of Mr Trump’s supporters constituted individuals desperate for change who felt let down by the government and the economy, Ms Clinton added. “Doesn’t really even matter where it comes from”. “Those are people we have to understand and empathize with as well”.

The new poll of 642 registered voters, conducted September 5-8 has a 4.5 percent margin of error.

Once the poll is complete, the project tallies the levels of support and estimated error for both candidates, and then runs multiple election simulations given their respective support.

That includes a proposed recasting of the Sylvester Stallone film “The Expendables” with Trump and his supporters.

This flap leads us back into the question at the heart of Trumpism.

In Arizona, Trump leads 42 per cent to 41 per cent. Clinton, however, leads among registered voters with 41 per cent to 40 per cent, Politico reported citing the poll. Or is their susceptibility to bigoted appeals rooted in legitimate economic and cultural grievances?

Nevertheless, black voters backed Clinton by 93 percent to 3 percent, and Hispanics by 64 percent to 20 percent.
