Brazilian authorities told USA officials they do not want to give Lochte the option of making a statement in his home country. “I think that’s what happened”.
In a sitdown interview with “Good Morning America” on Tuesday, the disgraced Olympic swimmer maintained that the only thng he lied about was having a gun cocked and pointed to his forehead, adding that he never vandalized the gas station bathroom.
The story that dominated the headlines during the second week of the Olympics has resulted in a wave of negative backlash for Lochte, who has issued multiple apologies and has lost endorsements with four major sponsors, including Speedo and Polo Ralph Lauren. “I made a mistake, and that’s something that I’m going to have to live with”.
Model Amber Rose is also competing on the show.
The 32-year-old, who says he wants to “move forward” following the controversy in Brazil, will again be scrutinised by the public – but this time on the quality of his Ballroom and Latin as he takes part in Dancing With the Stars.
“It was still hours after the incident and I’m not one to make excuses, but I was still intoxicated”, he said discussing his lie.
I guess we’ll have to wait until the show kicks off to see how the two’s chemistry is and if this new side of Ryan Lochte will do anything to help clear his tarnished reputation. “I just want to move forward”, he said.
