Driver killed after bus of high school football players, coaches crashes

The bus driver had picked up 28 students, and four adults were on the bus, including the bus driver, DIA spokeswoman Stacy Stegman said.

According to Joe Ferdani with the Adams 12 School District, the bus was carrying the Legacy High School football team which had just returned from playing a game out of state.
Injured students were taken to a hospital.
An official with DIA tweeted that all passenger pickups were taking place on Terminal West because of the crash on the east terminal.
Two passengers were in critical condition and two were in serious condition at Denver Health Medical Center.
Legacy’s football teams played Chino Hills (Calif.) High School last week, the school’s athletics website noted.
Children’s Hospital Colorado told 9NEWS it had six patients, all in fair condition.
By late Sunday, three adult staff members remained in the hospital, and numerous 15 students who were injured had been released to their parents, school district officials said.
Police haven’t released information on the cause of the crash.

Legacy High School is in Broomfield, a suburb north of Denver.
