New Miss America’s advice for Trump, Clinton: ‘Compromise’

On the 2017 Miss America Competition, Savvy Shields began the night as Miss Arkansas, and when it was all over, she had a new title, Miss America.

During the question and answer portion, she was asked about Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

“If you’re trying to be leader of the free world, everything you say and do matters and all of your actions are held to a higher standard”, she said.

She went on to say both of the “contestants” in the race had done a “good job”, before correcting herself with a laugh and saying she actually meant the candidates.

After her run as Miss America, Shields will return to the University of Arkansas as a senior studying art.

I wonder if she is a woo girl.

The runners-up were as follows: Fourth runner-up, Miss Mississippi Laura Lee Lewis; third runner-up, Miss Washington Alicia Cooper; second runner-up Miss New York Camille Sims; first runner up Miss South Carolina Rachel Wyatt. Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for its 170 member hospitals, is the national platform partner of the Miss America Organization.

This post was syndicated from 2oceansvibe.com. “Our country was founded on compromise”.

Neither did Miss Michigan Arianna Quan, who made headlines earlier this week when she spoke out against critics who said she was too “ugly” to be in the competition. “We’re in a state now where both parties just seem to be yelling at one another”. “I hope that at the end of my year we’re starting to reward politicians on compromising instead of just defending themselves”.

This year’s competition includes the first openly gay contestant, Miss Missouri Erin O’Flaherty.

She was the first openly gay contestant to win a state title.

California; Oklahoma; Maryland; New York; Tennessee; Louisiana, and Mississippi.

In her pageant biography, Shields said her defining moment came when she became an arts major and “came to realize that there are so many different lifestyles and beliefs other than my own, and that they are all equally validated”. One of the most entertaining facts about Savvy is her interest in performing as one of Beyonce’s backup dancers, as Ms. Shields says that’s an ambition shared by most dancers.

Ciara urged Shields to savor her big night.
