Police say the driver refused to stop and swerved at police cruisers several times, eventually hitting one.

Police said the two males stole the front loader somewhere in the Lewiston Auburn area just before dawn.

In New Gloucester, the driver crossed into the northbound line and deliberately hit a auto, police said.

A suspect in an Arizona bank robbery and pursuit died after an exchange of gunfire with police officers Tuesday afternoon. “The end result was that the operator stopped the loader, and the chase ended”, police wrote in the release.

Maine Turnpike said right lane near mile marker 71 is closed and they said it will be for a while.

In New Gloucester, the operator of the loader crossed the median and started to travel southbound in the northbound lanes.
