CM Punk Makes UFC Debut, Loses Via Submission
CM Punk’s UFC debut lasted just 2 minutes and 45 seconds before he was submitted by Mickey Gall by way of a rear-naked choke.

Out of pro wrestlings scripted ring, his first visit into the octagon didnt last long.
After stepping off the scales to face off with the 24-year-old, Punk completely ignored Gall’s offering. Since Cain Velasquez is coming off an electrifying, stoppage win over Travis Browne, and was booked for a title shot earlier this year, a lot of people believe the former champ will be next.
That every story does not have a fairytale ending is a lesson clearly illustrated in CM Punk’s Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) journey. Gall was able to sack the pro wrestling veteran easily, following up with some punches on the ground before the inevitable submission. That being said, there’s plenty to lament about his MMA debut too.
The 10-fight event kicked off Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET with one fight streaming on UFC Fight Pass. Urijah Faber and Jimmie Rivera fought before me. “I lost, and it sucks, and it was lopsided, and it’s upsetting”, he admitted before countering “I know I’m better than that”. “I became friends with him, he’s a nice guy”.
“It’s amusing”, he said, “my sister just told me that he said I was stuttering when I was talking to him”.
“It’s probably not a good idea for him to take his next fight in the UFC. This is a tough place to learn”.

The interviewer then asked the exec if Punk could have his next fight in the UFC, which was recently sold to WME-IMG for a whopping $4 billion. “I wasn’t surprised he got through those early chokes because I was only half committing, nearly playing a game with it in a way”. What if I get cut? I think all of us CM Punk fans would like to move on from this and erase this moment from our memories. I wanted to be able to work my standup. This opportunity just presented itself and I would’ve been a fool to say no.
