You might have heard by now that Samsung has issued a global recall for the Galaxy Note 7 after reports of a battery cell issue that was causing handsets to explode.

“Garuda Indonesia asks all passengers not to operate mobile phone during flight due to the advisory from the FAA on the use of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phone”, he said in a statement.

Regional airline, Caribbean Airlines (CAL) has banned the in-flight use and charging of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smart phones on all fights.

The recent Galaxy Note 7 incidents have led to a warning from the Federal Aviation Administration, which is asking travelers to avoid turning on or charging the phone during flights.

So far, there have been 35 reports of the phone’s battery exploding worldwide, and Samsung itself identified the battery problem in 24 of its Note 7 smartphones.

The airline also advised that the passenger will not be allowed to store the device in their checked luggage.

On Sept. 2, before the Florida incident, Samsung said it was recalling and suspending sales of the Galaxy Note7.

So the U.S. government safety agency took the measure after the tech giant asked the government to return Note 7 and make it safe for the users to use it. “We appreciate our customers’ continued support as we start to deliver this new stock to operators and retailers around the country from September 21”, Samsung Electronics Australia’s Richard Fink said. And, because customers’ safety is an absolute priority, Samsung has stopped sales of the Galaxy Note7. Samsung initially delayed shipments of Galaxy Note 7 devices, before moving to voluntary recall last week.
