Trump says health is an ‘issue’ after Clinton pneumonia revelation

Despite Trump’s numerous missteps, the race remains close and many Americans view Clinton as dishonest and untrustworthy.

“The question begs had she not had the fainting spell today in NY, when was she going to tell the country that she had pneumonia, if she was going to tell the country”, Schultz explains, noting that Clinton will come under “an enormous amount of scrutiny” during the final stretch of the campaign.

Hillary Clinton collapsed at the 9/11 memorial service on Sunday, delivering another jolt to the already chaotic 2016 Presidential campaign.

Jennifer Lawless, a professor of government at American University in Washington, said Clinton will be under pressure to show she is not laid low by illness.

Ms Clinton left the apartment on her own shortly before noon. Two Secret Service agents then held on to her arms and helped her get into the auto.

Clinton’s supporters have dismissed questions about her health by pointing to her globe-trotting schedule as secretary of state and lengthy appearance before Congress investigating the 2012 Benghazi attack, in which she sat for 11 hours.

Bloomberg reported a similar story, quoting “people familiar with the planning”.

Her departure was not witnessed by the reporters who travel with her campaign. She got overheated! But she’s fine now! “She is now re-hydrated and recovering nicely”, Bardack said in a statement released by the campaign. She emerged from her daughter’s NY apartment later and said she feels better. She canceled a trip to California scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, though attendees of one of Monday’s events were told that Clinton would appear via teleconference.

As a result, although the model shows that Hillary Clinton is the more charismatic of the two candidates, the poor economic indicators favour a Republican win. There’s no doubt that she has a propensity for secrecy, one born of a long dysfunctional relationship with the press that produces a vicious cycle in which they treat every new piece of information about her as shocking and sinister, then in response she tries to keep as much information private as possible, which convinces them that she has something to hide, which makes them even more skeptical of everything she says, which makes her more secretive, and around it goes. Woodrow Wilson had a stroke in office, Ronald Reagan underwent secret surgeries, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt famously went to great lengths to give the public the impression that he was fully mobile after his battle with polio even though he spent much of his life in a wheelchair.

“I don’t think age should be used at all”, Olshansky said. “Others” in the poll are defined as respondents who decline to pick either Clinton or Trump. But he has made less information available about his health than Clinton has.

The unsubtle point was clear: journalists must focus all their firepower on Trump, or they will get a beatdown from the Clinton Praetorian Guard.

He said: “I think she’s very political and to a certain extent, I think she should be ashamed of herself”. Trump would be the oldest person ever elected president, and Clinton would be the second-oldest. Clinton has released a two-page letter from a doctor written in 2015 that experts say is lacking. The billionaire businessman spoke in Des Moines at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in late August at U.S. Sen. He later told NBC News it took him just five minutes to write it.

The episode was also sure to fuel a vocal group of online conspiracy theorists, deemed “healthers” by some Clinton supporters, who point to videos and photos of Clinton as evidence of her poor health. The way the Clinton team handled Sunday’s event may provide an opening for Trump’s argument to gain more purchase.

The diagnosis: pneumonia and dehydration.

In contrast, Clinton’s transparency about her health opens herself up to rhetorical attacks along this line.
