Hillary Clinton Cancels Campaign Events Following Pneumonia Diagnosis
The Democratic presidential nominee abruptly left the anniversary ceremony on Sunday morning and needed to be held up by three people before she appeared to stumble off a kerb and was helped into a van. The incident, which occurred after months of questions about her health from her Republican opponent, Donald Trump, and his campaign, is likely to increase pressure on Clinton to address the issue and release detailed medical records, which the 68-year-old former secretary of state has so far declined to do, The New York Times said.

“What we’re seeing now is Hillary Clinton and her campaign trying to whip up a neo-McCarthyist hysteria where she claims that, effectively, Donald Trump is an agent of the Russians, that WikiLeaks is an agent of the Russians, and where her campaign has also implied that Jill Stein, the Greens leader, is a Russian agent, and that the Intercept, another USA publication, effectively [all] Russian agents”, Assange said.
Aides say Clinton intends to devote her day at home to continue preparing for her first debate with Donald Trump, which is two weeks from tonight. Clinton’s campaign later scrapped her schedule for Monday and Tuesday, which included fundraisers and appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in California.
Trump, 70, has said Clinton is “not strong enough to be president” and that she “lacks the mental and physical stamina to take on ISIS” jihadists. Her campaign later said she had “felt overheated”.
Trump’s fitness for office has received scrutiny during the campaign in addition to Clinton’s health.
The incident compounds an already hard stretch for Ms Clinton as the presidential race enters its final stretch.
Or rather it will force Clinton to have a conversation about her health in the race. The weather was warm and humid in NY on Sunday, and there was a breeze at the crowded memorial plaza during the ceremony.
That’s because of Clinton’s abrupt departure Sunday from a 9/11 anniversary ceremony in NY.
“Every time I think about Trump I get allergic”, she joked in front of the crowd. It prompted one of the reporters who witnessed the incident to publish a response knocking down the claim. Clinton was all smiles when she left the apartment about two hours later.
Trump has released letter from his physician, Dr. Harold Bornstein, that gave few details and declared the Republican would be “the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency”.
When asked if she was feeling better, she answered, “Yes, thank you very much”.
“I hope she gets well soon”. She emerged around two hours later on a warm and muggy morning, wearing sunglasses and telling reporters that she was “feeling great”.
Writing in the Washington Post, Todd C Frankel said Mrs Clinton had for years been discreet about her medical history and her discretion a “made it hard for voters to assess her complete health picture”.
Clinton is likely to resume campaigning Wednesday, but will nearly certainly not fly to Nevada.
The goal is to keep the public informed about their condition, whereabouts and official interactions at all times.
“Protective pool isn’t always easy for either candidate or press but there comes a point for each nominee when it must be part of daily life”, former Obama administration White House press secretary Robert Gibbs wrote on Twitter. A stomach virus and dehydration prompted her to faint, causing what her doctor said was a concussion.
