Tributes pour in for Alexis Arquette, dead at 47
No cause of death has been given. David Bowie’s StarMan played as she passed away after reportedly battling an illness. “We came to discover the one truth – that love is everything”, the statement continues. “As she moved through her process, she became our sister, teaching us what real love is”, she wrote.

David also released a statement, saying, “Never have I had the honour of knowing and loving a funnier, more attractive soul then my brother/sister Alexis”.
Alexis was an outspoken activist for trans rights, and is best known for her acting roles in films like The Wedding Singer and Pulp Fiction.
Her experience was documented in Alexis Arquette: She’s My Brother, which screened at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2007.
Her break-out role came in 1989’s Last Exit To Brooklyn, in which she played a transvestite named Georgette.
“She was a vanguard in the fight for understanding and acceptance of all trans people”.
The Arquette family has requested privacy at this time, and that donations be made to organizations that support the LGBTQ community in honor of Alexis Arquette in lieu of flowers or gifts.
“We will love and miss you forever”.
The statement, signed by Arquette’s siblings Richmond, Patricia, David, and Rosanna, reads in part, “Alexis was born as Robert, our brother”.
She also appeared in The Wedding Singer as a member of a band, impersonating pop star Boy George. He was surrounded by all of his brothers and sisters, one of his nieces and several other loved ones. We will love you always, Alexis.
“My heart goes out to anyone who was lucky enough to know Alexis”.
“We held her and sang her David Bowie’s “Starman” as she punched through the veil to the other side”, the family said.

While other celebs were paying remembrance on the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, David Arquette was taking to Twitter for more personal reasons, remembering his big sister with the following sweet message.
