Listen To Nick Murphy’s New Track ‘Fear Less’
Murphy has also announced he will be on the line-up for the St Jerome’s Laneway festival next year. He did add, however, that “Chet Faker will always be a part of the music”.

This isn’t the only announcement for the talented musician.
Last week Melbourne producer Nick Murphy announced he was ditching the moniker Chet Faker and would release music under his real name.
Today he shares a preview of this new sound on track Fear Less, an electrifying mix of past and new influences. His critically acclaimed debut album BUILT ON GLASS was also a commercial success (platinum status in Australia and peaked at #6 on the NZ charts) and his recent collabs with Marcus Marr were bona-fide hits too.
Murphy is expected to perform a dynamic show, pulling from his existing catalogue and showcasing new material.
Laneway’s new venue in Auckland has already been confirmed – moving from Silo Park to Albert Park Precinct for the January 30 event.
If this is the direction he’s heading in, we’re keen to hear a bit more.

“Music fans can come and hear some of the most exciting music acts on the planet, have plenty of space to relax in the shade under the handsome trees and have a really wonderful day”, he said.
