Packers hold on to avoid upset at Jacksonville
The fourth time was the charm for the Green Bay Packers.

Aaron Rodgers #12 of the Green Bay Packers warms up during a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at EverBank Field on September 11, 2016 in Jacksonville.
“We’ve been through this”, defensive coordinator Dom Capers said, per the team’s official Twitter account.
Even though Aaron Rodgers played like an MVP, he was hardly satisfied with Green Bay’s offensive performance.
Nelson played his first meaningful game in 20 months Sunday, finishing with six catches for 32 yards and a touchdown in a victory at Jacksonville.
Not many quarterbacks have the arm strength to make that throw, particularly with Jags cornerback Jalen Ramsey grabbing the back of Rodgers’ jersey.
In what turned out to be a battle of the offenses featuring a gamut of backs and receivers for Green Bay, variety was certainly the spice the Packers used to defeat a Jacksonville team that looked more evenly matched for Green Bay than anticipated.
Nelson had half his catches in a four-play stretch late in the first half. Unfortunately, our running game never got going because the Packers were loading the box and run blitzing all afternoon. “We kind of had an idea that they are a really good combination”.
Jacksonville answered with a 22-yard touchdown pass from Bortles to tight end Julius Thomas over Rollins. WR Randall Cobb appeared to twist his ankle and limped gingerly off the field in the third quarter but did not miss a play with the Packers’ offense. And on Sunday against Jacksonville, he broke up a long pass on which he ran with 6-foot-3 receiver Allen Robinson stride for stride and looked like the intended receiver when he almost intercepted the pass as the two fell out of bounds. The Packers took the second-half kickoff and kept the ball for 13 plays, 68 yards and 4:48.
In Sunday’s Florida heat – at 90 degrees it tied for the third-hottest game in Packers history – Green Bay’s offense was an improved version of the unit that ranked 23rd in the National Football League last season.
Alex Smith dived for a touchdown on the first possession of overtime, completing the Kansas City Chiefs’ frantic rally from a 17-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat the San Diego Chargers 33-27 in their season opener.
NOTES: DE Tyson Alualu was inactive for the Jaguars, snapping his streak of 96 consecutive games played.

Ultimately though Fowler will get some reps and the two players will likely split time 50/50.
