In Sunday’s Florida heat – at 90 degrees it tied for the third-hottest game in Packers history – Green Bay’s offense was an improved version of the unit that ranked 23rd in the National Football League last season.
Alex Smith dived for a touchdown on the first possession of overtime, completing the Kansas City Chiefs’ frantic rally from a 17-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat the San Diego Chargers 33-27 in their season opener.
