Packers’ Nelson catches first TD since ACL tear

For the Green Bay Packers, the last second, nail-biting, down-to-the-wire victory Sunday at Jacksonville clearly kept with the theme of Week 1 in the National Football League, and as usual Green Bay didn’t disappoint.

He liked the players’ reaction. Jacksonville was an early test, and since most of the starters barely played in preseason, they should be heading into the next game ready to go.

As a team, Jacksonville had 48 yards on 26 carries (1.8 avg.) as the Packers were credited with seven tackles for loss on running plays, from six different players, in Sunday’s 27-23 victory.

“This one hurts”, Hurns said. We had a number of shots at the end zone. “We knew it was tough on the defensive line”. He also has some risky weapons in Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns on the outside.

Nelson said he was hesitant to talk about any expectations for his return before the game because “it’s the unknown”. That was a close one.

That didn’t lessen the disappointment inside the Jaguars’ locker room after the game.

Packers LT David Bakhtiari, who was added to the injury report on Saturday as questionable with a back issue, is active and expected to start today vs. Jacksonville after all.

That’s the game”, Jackson said. “We’re all glad to have him back out there with us”. “He cares – along with a lot of guys in that locker room”. After being three-for-three on fourth down, Allen Hurns was stopped for no gain on a fourth-and-1 completion at the Packer 15. They allowed 375 yards and 28 points per game in 2015, but the team addressed the unit heavily in the offseason through the NFL Draft and free agency.

Packers and Jaguars started the second half by exchanging field goals. He also ran for a 6-yard score on Green Bay’s first possession, which followed a Bortles interception.

“It was a hard-fought game and you see it on tape”, Bradley said. “They are a big “bring the house” team, so we just have to execute. The focus on the sideline was great”. “To put the blame on the defensive line I would say I would have to take the blame”. We’re really excited about that. “We have to get the play call in, get the right personnel in and execute better”. What I am surprised …

“It’s going to haunt us every night until next Sunday”.

Overall, this was a positive sign for the Jaguars but it’s not good enough. There’s a difference between you expect to win and you know you’re going to win.

“If you can’t go to a football game to get away from it for three hours what else is there”, quipped another. That’s what this team is feeling now. We do not accept the loss.
