Coldplay headlining first-ever, free Global Citizen Festival in India
While so far we have heard many big names of our Indian celebrities who ” ll join the stage with Coldplay and other global artist, the fresh one to join the list in Bollyowod’s powerhouse, Ranveer Singh.

That Coldplay is performing in Mumbai is old news. “On announcing it’s first event in India, “@coldplay headline the 1st #GlobalCitizen Festival in India on 11/19!
THE CAUSE: The Global Citizen India Festival has tied up with organisations such as the Global Education & Leadership Foundation, Google, Pratham Foundation, Oxfam India, India Sanitation Coalition, Magic Bus and Water Aid amongst others, to work towards social change.
The Global Citizen Festival, established in 2012, takes place each year in New York’s Central Park on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly to push world leaders to put anti-poverty efforts high on the agenda. Tickets will be free and earned “through taking actions in support of education, equality, and sanitation campaigns”, according to the website. This six-hour concert will feature live musical performances, stars, dancing, PSAs and short films by eminent filmmakers.
On September 9, a Mid-Day report confirmed that Coldplay is going to finally play in Mumbai on November 19 also, they added the tickets are costing between Rs 25,000 to Rs 5 lakh.

However, 90 percent of the tickets are free and can be earned. “Tix are FREE by taking action”, Global Citizen tweeted from its official handle. But, thanks to Global Citizen Festival, the legendary United Kingdom band are finally set to perform in the subcontinent. The announcement was made during the launch of Global Citizen India platform in Bandra on Sunday. The Indian line-up is no less exalted, rumoured appearances by Priyanka Chopra, Jay-Z and A R Rahman in addition to headliners Coldplay. The Mumbai show on November 19 is a part of a festival to promote ending poverty across the globe.
