Jurgen Klopp urges Liverpool fans not to sing his name during matches
But Leicester were given hope when Lucas inexplicably passed the ball to Jamie Vardy to shoot into an empty net.

It was pleasing to see Klopp start Sturridge, and play him in his natural position, but it needs to be maintained. It’s our job to prove that we are as strong as I think we are. We scored wonderful goals and conceded a not-too-wonderful goal and had a few minutes where you saw what can happen in a football game. “We tried in the second half, but everything Liverpool tried came good”.
Leicester have had a hard start to the defence of their title with two defeats already, having lost just three in the whole of last season, and balancing the demands of European and domestic football will be a challenge.
“The quicker we can get over this result the better”.
Liverpool’s Sadio Mane takes the ball past Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel during the English Premier League soccer match Liverpool against Leicester City at Anfield, Liverpool, England, Saturday Sept. 10, 2016.
Liverpool dazzled offensively as they beat Arsenal 4-3 in their season opener, and while they have lacked consistency under Juergen Klopp, they reaffirmed their class going forward in a vibrant display that exposed the champions’ limitations. We had to change in a very decisive position yesterday.
In truth, the pre-match parade of Anfield old boys including Kenny Dalglish, Ian Rush, Ian St John and Terry McDermott had more stardust in their bootlaces than Jurgen Klopp’s current band of brothers.
“I don’t play! It’s nice, I like all the players, but please don’t sing my name before the game is decided.”
Jurgen Klopp and his team have so far not been considered favorites in the league and many argue they don’t have the quality to be contenders.
“I love these players”. It’s something that depends on each other, it’s nice but not necessary.
It was one of those performances that make you wonder just how good this team can be as soon as this year.
“That is an easy deal”.
“I’m just pleased because it is a great compliment to be compared to the legendary players, but I am still young and learning and need to give my best for the team”.
Claudio Ranieri ruled out summer signing Nampalys Mendy through injury, which meant that Daniel Amartey kept his place in the heart of Leicester’s midfield alongside Danny Drinkwater after an impressive performance against Swansea City before the worldwide break.
“We started well, but after the first goal we lost our shape a little”, Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri told BT Sport.
“One of our strengths last season was when we lost a match (there was a) very good reaction and I am awaiting a very good reaction in Brugge”.
