Dana White suggests that CM Punk’s UFC career could already be over

The welterweight fight ended at 2:14 of the opening round, when Punk tapped via a rear-naked choke. “You know in life you go big or you go home”, he said. This opportunity just presented itself and I would’ve been a fool to say no. Punk was largely ridiculed for the move, but many fighters and fans took a liking to the 37-year-old as his debut approached.

The debut arrived at UFC 203 on Saturday night and he lasted just over two minutes with Gall, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt under the Miller brothers.

CM Punk refused to shake hands with opponent Mickey Gall at the UFC 203 weigh-in on Friday night. Does he work even harder and try to comeback for another UFC fight?

“F*** the hate. We’ll all be dead in 100 years”. He went to the floor quickly, and never got back up. Gall is now 3-0 as a professional and has won all of his fights via first-round stoppage. He acknowledged that he may be cut from the UFC altogether after his performance, but was firm in his desire to continue fighting, saying “I definitely want to keep going, I gotta get back on the bike and ride”. He wanted to give it a shot, I gave him his shot. CM Punk was once a WWE champion before retiring from wrestling in 2014, then made a decision to sign on to the UFC later that year. “I think that’s a possibility”, he said during the post-fight interview.

Since Punk had never fought, and had fairly limited training experience, the consensus was he was in way over his head against Gall. “I knew my kill stuff was going to be more than his kill stuff. He’s still a big superstar”, Gall said.

“This might sound like a gimmicky fight but I’m no gimmick”.

“I think they’re going to force me to stay out because I’ve got this ear and some stitches in my eye, but I’d be back in the gym on Monday if it was up to me”.
