Miocic last fought at UFC 198 when he won the title after knocking out Fabricio Werdum at the 2:47 of the first round. Miocic is able to get out and return to his feet.
The reigning UFC Heavyweight Champ’s friend and co-worker, Jamie Mecklemburg, said there will be entire sections of the arena filled entirely with firemen.
“Well, I predict a second or third-round knockout”, Overeem said.
Overeem is supremely confident but isn’t underestimating Miocic, a man he called a unsafe fighter who is champion for a reason.
“It doesn’t matter where I fight”, he said. The Cleveland crowd roared as Miocic hammered Overeem with a right uppercut and another straight right moments later.
Replays showed that Miocic didn’t quit, but Overeem remained steadfast that he felt the champion tap out after applying the choke. Expect the Cleveland crowd to fuel some extra motivation in their hometown boy in a closely-contested and even match. I don’t ever want to change that.

Heading into the bout, Punk’s confidence was high. “He let go”, he said.
“We’ll find out Saturday if I’ve been training or not … I didn’t get to the summit tonight but it doesn’t mean I’m going to give up, it doesn’t mean I’m going anywhere, it doesn’t mean I’m going to stop”.
The 24-year-old Gall never doubted he would crush Punk.
