Smith, who chose USC over Clemson, Florida, Georgia and North Carolina, was believed to be a strong lean to the Tigers for much of the recruiting process because his mother, Tashia Green, played volleyball at the school. He was one of the first prospects the USC coach sought after coming to Columbia. The six foot-four, 212 pound wideout is ranked 33 in the ESPN Top 100 for receivers in the class of 2017 and is ranked number one in SC by 24-7 Sports.

Smith had a huge junior season for the Warriors in 2015 with 84 receptions for 1319 yards and 16 touchdowns. He joins four-star Shi Smith (Union County, S.C.) and three-star Shawn Smith (Brunswick, Ga.) in the class.

He’s also the sixth four-star recruit to join the program’s class of 2017 – which is now the No. 11 recruiting class in the country. My mom went to Clemson but I’m taking my own route so I went to USC. The commitment of OrTre will push the Gamecocks inside the top 10 in Rivals.com team recruiting rankings.
