Dee Ford made a big play when the Chiefs needed it

All this against a San Diego team coming off a 4-12 campaign and expected to be among the league’s bottom dwellers again this season.

A lot of things went wrong for the Chargers after they looked so good in the first half.

Kansas City outscored San Diego 30-6 in the second half and overtime. In his place, Spencer Ware showed he is a valuable weapon, even if he’s a different kind of weapon than the Chiefs are used to.

Ware finished with 70 yards rushing and had seven catches for 129 yards, giving the Chiefs a big boost without Jamaal Charles.

“I think every guy knows how bad we played, how poorly we played in the first half, and we’re not going to get away with it all the time”, Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith said.

The Kansas City Chiefs are notorious for starting the season slowly.

Allen was well on his way to obliterating his previous career bests a year ago, as he had 725 yards and four touchdowns in eight games. “Luckily, we found it there in the second half and overtime”.

Gordon, on the other hand, carried 14 times for just 57 yards but he managed to score two touchdowns.

Several teams, including the Chiefs and Seahawks, saw their players link arms during the anthem.

Whatever the reason, next to nothing went right for Kansas City for almost three quarters Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium as the Chiefs fell behind by 21 points.

“Certainly we weren’t doing it and we weren’t playing the way we’re capable of for whatever reason”, he said. He went on to say that once they woke up, it was a heck of a win. McCoy said he doesn’t know when Bosa will be ready to play.

Smith was the man of the moment after leading the Chiefs to 30 points in the final 23 minutes and scoring the winning touchdown in overtime of a game that earlier looked lost. “Together we are going to continue to have conversations, educate ourselves and others on social issues and work with local law enforcement officials and leaders to make an impact on the Kansas City community”.

They finish by saying, “Hood is in Utah and there are sexier players even on his own team, but he could very well be the difference between a near playoff spot in the West and contention for home court in the first round”.
