Liverpool mark new stand opening with a win against Leicester City

Phil (Coutinho) didn’t start, Divock Origi didn’t come on, there were a few players injured, but it was still a good team (performance). It’s quite a simple deal. “That is what I expect from us, what we did today”. We will see how often we can show it. “When the Kop started singing it (Leicester) were alone in front of Simon Mignolet”.

“I will be happy if defenders are afraid of me because it will make it easier for me”. It is nice but not necessary.

“Yes, I am in a good way, but you have to work”, he said.

Liverpool played host to defending champions Leicester City and thoroughly dominated the match, bar one horrific mistake of biblical proportions from Lucas Leiva, giving Leicester their only goal of the match through Jamie Vardy.

But Liverpool reclaimed their two-goal lead shortly after halftime thanks to a fierce shot from Adam Lallana.

“I’m just pleased because it is a great compliment to be compared to the legendary players, but I am still young and learning and need to give my best for the team”.

“The quicker we can get over this the better”, said Drinkwater.

But by now, we all know that Leicester City do not quite fit into the conventional mould. “Now I’m in Liverpool I hope I can score more”.

“It’s a really exciting moment”, he said. It would be really nice if you could stop please!

They now sit fifth in an embryonic Premier League table.

For the most part of the first half, the Foxes would’ve found it easier scaling the steel structures of the new stand than thwarting Liverpool’s relentless swagger.

Ranieri echoed one of his main on-field lieutenants and is thrilled rather than daunted by Wednesday’s challenge. “We were waiting for this kind of football because it was their first match at home, new stand”.

“We scored wonderful goals and conceded a not-too-wonderful goal”.

“We could have equalised but I’m an honest man, Liverpool deserved to win”, the Italian added. We have to clean our mind.

“Of course playing in Europe will help”. We had now two weeks and I met a lot of you and I hear almost in each question a little bit of doubt – are you really sure?
