Vikings not ready to name QB starter against Packers
After the Minnesota Vikings won their season opener behind veteran quarterback Shaun Hill, one could probably assume that at least a few of his teammates would be completely against the idea of newly-acquired Sam Bradford getting the nod sooner than later.

Zimmer said he’d prefer to hold his “cards close to the vest” against a hard opponent and joked that he “just figured it would be good sports talk radio”.
“I did what I came here to do, and that was to be 1/53rd part of a W, and that was it, to be honest with you”, Hill said.
“We tried to take the next step and tried to get turnovers, ” said Vikings cornerback Captain Munnerlyn.
Minnesota coach Mike Zimmer did his best to hide his starter at quarterback after the Vikings lost Teddy Bridgewater to a major knee injury August 30, and after they traded their 2017 first-round draft pick to Philadelphia for Sam Bradford. Shaun Hill was efficient, going 18 of 33 for 236 yards without giving up a sack or turning the ball over. Wentz played mistake-free football despite missing the last three preseason games with injured ribs.
They did, in a big way, and the team looked completely different in the second half en route to a 25-16 win.
Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer said Patterson is continuing a solid offseason.
The Vikings defense notched triple takeaways from the Titans in a span of 6:58 from late in the third quarter to the 9:40 mark in the fourth quarter. Walsh had a rough first half, missing a 37-yard attempt that would have tied the game and missing a 56-yarder at the end of the first half so badly you might have thought he was doing it on objective. Yes, there should have been a fourth turnover courtesy of an interception by Harrison Smith, but after Everson Griffen pushed Marcus Mariota, causing him to fall to the ground and cry like Nancy Kerrigan (™ Eric Cartman), it was negated. The Vikings returned two of those for touchdowns in beating Tennessee 25-16. The Titans crowded the line and Adrian Peterson rushed for a measly 31 yards on 19 carries with five negative-yardage plays.
Vikings safety Andrew Sendejo pounced on a fumble forced by Linval Joseph three plays after Hunter’s fumble recovery. Zimmer sent Walsh out to attempt a 56-yarder at the end of the first half, and the kicker was well short despite being lined up in the middle of the field.
“Regardless of what the distance is, you want to make it”.
The 50-yarder put the Vikings on the board and added to his franchise record of 24 field goals from 50 or more yards. Defenses not fearing Hill as a downfield passer is a factor. “I’m proud of the way they handled it”.
Hill hit receiver Stefon Diggs seven times for 103 yards, but he mostly should thank his defense. Defensive lineman Jurrell Casey said they’ve got to both clean up the turnovers and force some fumbles and interceptions defensively to win games. “We just have to do a better job of being more efficient in the red zone and coming out with seven”. Gore is the only active player ahead of Peterson and had 59 yards for the Colts on Sunday to give him 12,099.

No, we can’t count on two defensive touchdowns in every (read: any) game, but man, it was fun to watch. Everybody is picking them to go to the Super Bowl.
