Can not charge Galaxy Note 7 on VN Airlines flights
“The following day, Samsung Electronics’ US unit released a statement saying that it has been collaborating with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission to implement a voluntary corrective action plan to expedite a US recall of the Galaxy Note 7”. “We are asking users to power down their Galaxy Note 7s and exchange them as soon as possible”, Koh Dong-jin, the president of mobile operations at Samsung said yesterday.

He added passengers were also advised to report to cabin crews if their electronic appliances heat up, get lost during in-flight or are accidentally dropped in gaps between seats.
Thai Airways International and its budget subsidiary Thai Smile Airways have joined other carriers in banning the Galaxy Note 7 from checked baggage and banned passengers using them on board.
On Friday, Samsung Electronics America asked Note 7 owners to shut off their phones and exchange them for another device.
As concern grew over the battery catching fire, with more cases reported last week, Samsung on Sunday, September 11, escalated its warning, telling Note 7 users around the world to immediately turn the device off.
Aviation authorities and airlines across the world have also issued bans or guidelines prohibiting passengers from turning on or charging the phone inside planes in response.
Myung Sub Song, an analyst at HI Investment & Securities, said that the recall issue could have an impact of around 1 trillion won ($900 million) to Samsung’s third-quarter operating profit.
“Our number one priority is the safety of our customers”. In the interim, consumers can return their Note 7 for another device. Samsung has used the Chinese maker batteries for 30 percent of its initial batch of Note 7s, the report says.

Launched last month, the seventh version of the Galaxy Note series was otherwise well-received by consumers and critics.
