Hillary Clinton’s health: Separating fact from fiction

Clinton didn’t say specifically when she’d return to the campaign trail, other than to tell CNN’s Anderson Cooper that it will be “in the next couple of days”. “She’s doing fine. She was even better last night before she went to sleep”. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., that she was ill but that she didn’t make a public statement because “I just didn’t think it was going to be that big a deal”.

As Donald Trump supporters and the media continue to engage in wild speculation about what we may or may not know about Hillary Clinton’s health, the Democratic nominee herself called into CNN to set the record straight.

The disclosure was made public hours after her campaign said she had become “overheated” to explain why, knees buckling and unsteady, she was rushed from a ceremony marking the September 11, 2001, attacks in NY to her daughter Chelsea’s apartment.

The Clinton campaign revealed that she was diagnosed Friday with pneumonia after video surfaces of Mrs. Clinton’s collapse.

Hillary Clinton has cancelled a campaign trip to California while she recovers from pneumonia, a campaign official has said.

Clinton, who suffered a concussion and blood clot in 2012 after falling in her home, has faced mounting questions and accusations about her fitness in the past few months from Trump’s surrogates and conservative news outlets. You know, you’ve got a medical report on me that meets the same standard as Mitt Romney and Barack Obama.

The Clinton campaign has accused opponents of pushing a “deranged conspiracy” about her health.

Some political analysts say both should release more information about their medical history. “I’ll be lucky if I can hold her back another day”. “She’s been….well, if it is (something worse) it’s a mystery to me and all her doctors”.

So far, Trump has only released a brief letter from his physician that was light on details but said if elected, he would be “the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency”.

The Democratic nominee later said she regretted her remarks at an LGBT fundraiser in NY.

She waved to reporters and said: “I’m feeling great”.

The incident Sunday – in which Clinton appeared unsteady and needing assistance from aides – has resulted in her and Republican rival Donald Trump each planning to release more personal health information.
