The Trinamool Congress chief further said that 620 acres was being surveyed, and 9,117 land deeds were being prepared for the farmers.

Mamata Banerjee said that the state government has also decided to make the acquired land cultivable and hand them over to the farmers so that they can start farming.
She also said 800 cheques would be distributed among the farmers who had not taken them earlier during the erstwhile Left front government when compensation was paid for acquiring the land. We expect they will shift their materials. “But the government will continue with its scheme of providing financial assistance of Rs 2,000 and subsidised rice to the unwilling farmers in Singur”, she said. “We will wait for a couple of days and then we would remove the structure if the company doesn’t do it”, the chief minister said.
“If they don’t respond, the state government would dismantle the structures and whatever they have would be kept in a safe place”.
She had also said physical possession of cultivable land would be given to the landowners within the stipulated time frame of 12 weeks. Her remark bears enough significance at a time when a large number of farmers there had now started clamouring for industries at the site where the Tatas were supposed to set up their small auto project. “We have progressed with the work in accordance with the order of the Supreme Court”, Mamata said. The Tatas are also working in Bengal. “800 people will be given cheques for their land holdings from the meeting site day after tomorrow”, the chief minister said.
The 10-year old land acquisition issue, which catapulted Mamata Banerjee as the chief minister of West Bengal in 2011, will come to an amicable end on September 14 when Mamata herself will distribute the cheques.

She also said that if the farmers of Singur wanted to have industries on their land once they got it back she has no one objection to that.
