PSG lost more than a player in Ibrahimovic – Wenger

Paris Saint-Germain have claimed at numerous times their desire to reach win the Champions League but they failed three times in a row at the quarterfinal stage.

In four seasons the Swede scored 156 goals in 180 matches for PSG – a club record – but since joining Manchester United in the summer the French outfit have struggled to fill the huge void left by his departure.

Arsenal are seventh in the Premier League table, with seven points from the first four games. Now I have a team with more experienced players. For a man who has given so much to Arsenal, winning the Champions League with the Gunners, in his 19th attempt would be a very fitting send off should he retire at the end of the season.

Asked why he had turned PSG down, Wenger said: “I always remained loyal to Arsenal because it’s a club that has the qualities I love – and that’s why”.

Despite showing his loyalty to Arsenal, Wenger is a now a divisive figure among the fans. “It’s a city I love, it’s my country, it’s a country I love”, said Wenger.
