And players from the Seattle Seahawks locked arms during the anthem at the start of their Sunday game, as did Chiefs’ players.

At the same time Goodell is supporting Kaepernick he might also fine players who wear shoes supporting the victims of the deadly terrorists attacks on September 11, 2001.

In an interview with USA news show Today the league’s commissioner, Roger Goodell said, “You know, we encourage our players to be respectful”.

Coaches and most members of the South Jersey Tigers high school football team, Woodrow Wilson, knelt during the national anthem on Saturday.

“I’d just say that human rights is a philosophy that everybody should hold dear”, York said. All four stood at the conclusion of the anthem.

Many wondered heading into the 15th anniversary of 9/11 whether NFL players would still demonstrate a protest during the national anthem, and the answer was yes.

Prior to the games, a video message from former President George H.W. Bush and President Obama was played in stadiums around the country to commemorate the somber anniversary. “Additionally, we routinely give training to Sailors on appropriate usage of social media and that they must abide by the Uniform Code of Justice at all times”. Whether or not someone believes that he is kneeling for the right issue or at the right moment is a valid point of discussion, but it is unfair to speak ill of Kaepernick for simply expressing his liberties as an American. “I salute him for that”.

After the anthem, Kaepernick was embraced by multiple teammates. The exact meaning of their gestures was not clear.

Pro Bowl defensive lineman Jur rell Casey, cornerback Jason McCourty and linebacker Wesley Woodyard all had hands over their hearts during the anthem before Sunday’s season opener against Minnesota.

Wide receiver Doug Baldwin, who became a default spokesman for Seattle’s actions, said the players are working to schedule a meeting with the mayor of Seattle and local law enforcement.

“We ought to raise that question and get the answer in the context of the Christian gospel”, the pastor said. “Change doesn’t happen without confrontation”. “And so right now what we’re doing as a team, we have a follow through”.

“As we talked about it, we came up with taking a knee, because there are issues that still need to be addressed”.
