A promo image of the upcoming Huawei Mate 9 has leaked confirming a Kirin 960 chipset and dual 20MP cameras. The next processor in the pipeline is expected to be the Kirin 960, with the recent Kirin 955 only seeing an appearance on current flagship, the Huawei P9. This dual camera feature might likely be the same as that of the Huawei P9, which are 12 MP. The Huawei Mate 9 then will be getting an upgraded version once it comes out.

The Mate 9 will launch at the end of 2016 running Android 7.0 Nougat garnished with Emotion UI 5.0. It will also have 6 GB of RAM. Meanwhile, there are no details about the processor, but it is anticipated to be octa-core with four Cortex-A73 cores and four Cortex-A53s cores. That said, most of what has been revealed in the latest leak does line up perfectly with the info shared by analyst Pan Jiutang earlier this year.

These leaks were accompanied by an alleged teaser of the phone on the Chinese website Weibo. The specs featured in the teaser though are that of the Huawei Mate 9.
