Hideo Kojima Reveals More Death Stranding Info

We’re still not entirely sure what exactly Death Stranding is, but during Sony’s pre-TGS conference this morning Hideo Kojima took to the stage to offer some tiny nuggets of info. He appeared at the end of the conference to share some details about his upcoming new game, Death Stranding. He said that Death Stranding does have an online element, but did not reveal how large that element is.

He revealed that the game will be in the action genre and that it will be open world, with “a degree of freedom”. Not much is now known about this game, but today Hideo Kojima himself revealed some small new details.

Hopefully, the final game has actual handholding.

Closing off his speech, Kojima announced that an engine has been chosen, and that Death Stranding is now officially in full production. Having players face off is a long-standing game mechanic, so not relying only on that formula could make for an interesting experience, but one that’s risky for him as a game creator.

He also directed our attention to the game’s logo, and pointed out that the strands that were visible from the bottom of the words were actually cords that connected people to one another.

Thanks to this you can get a better idea of what we can expect after the cryptic trailer of presentation that was shown at last E3, where no clue about the kind of game this would have been given.
