Anne Hathaway to star in ‘The Ambassador’s Wife’

Anne Hathaway is all set to star as “The Ambassador’s Wife” in a limited TV series adaptation of journalist Jennifer Steil’s novel of the same name.

The Ambassador’s Wife is represented by CAA for TV and Brettne Bloom at The Book Group for publishing.

“Ambassador’s Wife” continues a trend of limited series attracting top-flight movie stars for TV productions that don’t come with the same open-ended commitment as a traditional series.

Hathaway has also signed on to produce along with The Mark Gordon Company and and Entertainment One.

Film stars like Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, and Rachel McAdams joined the cast of True Detective; which shows actors who wouldn’t otherwise commit to television, commit to a limited series. Upcoming work for Hathaway includes the film The Intern coming to theaters September 25. Mark Gordon (Criminal Minds) is producing the project, which is not yet attached to a network.
